Kasidy Fritts

Founder and Head Artist

As the artist behind Washed Up Key West, I specialize in crafting unique pieces of functional art that marry modern design with a classic aesthetic. My work is inspired by the remarkable interplay between nature and craftsmanship found in the tropical hardwoods of the Florida Keys.

Salvaged from the shores where the salt spray of the surrounding oceans shapes their growth, these hardwoods possess a distinctive grain pattern, a testament to their slow growth rate. It's this unique characteristic that forms the foundation of my artistic exploration.

By employing intricate epoxy color pouring techniques, I bring out the inherent beauty of these woods, transforming them into captivating works of art. From mesmerizing wall sculptures to intricate tabletop pieces, each creation tells a story of resilience and adaptation, reflecting the timeless allure of the island's natural environment.

At Washed Up Key West, sustainability is at the heart of my practice. By repurposing fallen trees and giving them new life as functional art, I not only celebrate the beauty of nature but also strive to leave a positive impact on the environment.

Join me in celebrating the beauty of the Florida Keys and the unique character of its hardwoods. Together, let's explore the intersection of art, nature, and innovation, one exquisite piece at a time.
